1930s Scallop Back Armchair in Green Velvet

A 1930s upholstered armchair with a distinctive scalloped backrest, shaped wings and tapered wooden legs. The chair retains its original green velvet upholstery with decorative piping running between the scalloped back panels.

The frame is solid and substantial, with a firm seat and a noticeably heavy construction. The upholstery shows age-related wear, particularly to the armrests, and there are areas of loose piping that may benefit from attention. It remains perfectly usable as it stands and could equally be enjoyed in its current condition or reupholstered.

Suitable as an occasional chair, reading chair or bedroom seat. The shape works particularly well in Art Deco, traditional, eclectic, maximalist and vintage-inspired interiors.
