Mid Century Solid Oak Glazed Bookcase with Cupboard

A well-made mid century solid oak bookcase with a useful cupboard to one side and a pair of sliding glass doors protecting the main shelving. Unlike many pieces from the period that rely on teak veneer over chipboard, this is built predominantly from solid oak with a reassuring weight and quality throughout. Raised on shaped solid oak legs with a clean, understated frame, it has the honest craftsmanship and proportions associated with British furniture making of the 1950s and 60s. A lovely practical piece that feels built to last.

The adjustable shelving offers plenty of space for books, ceramics or display pieces, while the enclosed cupboard provides useful hidden storage. The original textured cupboard knob adds a subtle decorative detail without overpowering the simple design.
