A lovely original dining set by White & Newton of Portsmouth, comprising an extending teak table and four matching chairs.
The previous owner told us that her parents bought the set new in 1964, and it still has both the White & Newton label and the additional “Selected for The Design Centre, London” label. This was THE definitive 1960s style and this original set still exudes that, even after 60+ years!
It’s a very nicely proportioned set, with slim tapered legs, shaped chair backs and black upholstered seats. The table extends when needed and works well as an everyday four-seater.
There is some sun fading and light wear to the tabletop, but overall the set is in good vintage condition and presents very well.
