McIntosh Modular Teak Wall Unit & Sideboard System – 1971
McIntosh Modular Teak Wall Unit & Sideboard System – 1971

A substantial modular teak wall unit produced by A.H. McIntosh & Co., Kirkcaldy, Scotland and stamped November 1971. The system comprises three lower storage cabinets, a central bank of drawers, adjustable shelving, and a rare suspended drawer module. Designed around a fully modular format, the shelves and drawer units can be repositioned to suit individual requirements.
The unit dismantles into separate sections and folds flat for transport, making it considerably easier to move than many comparable wall systems. Finished in teak veneer with McIntosh's characteristic clean-lined Scandinavian-influenced styling, it offers a large amount of practical storage while retaining a relatively light visual appearance. Comparable in concept to Ladderax and other British modular storage systems of the period.
Presented in good vintage condition with some age-related surface marks, scratches and signs of use consistent with over fifty years of service.
