Mid Century Walnut Highboard Drinks Cabinet by F.D. Welters

A stylish mid century walnut highboard by F.D. Welters of High Wycombe, dating from the 1960s. Its asymmetric layout gives it plenty of character, with tambour doors to the upper left, sliding glass display doors to the centre, three drawers below, open storage, and a sliding cupboard to the right. Raised on tapered legs, it offers a practical mix of display and concealed storage while keeping a compact footprint. A well-designed British piece with a look that sits comfortably alongside both Scandinavian and contemporary interiors.

It is in good vintage condition with the expected signs of age and use. There are some chips, scuffs and general wear to the finish, particularly around the edges and legs, all consistent with a cabinet that has been well used over the years. The drawers are traditionally dovetailed, the sliding doors operate as they should, and the original F.D. Welters maker's badge is still present. A useful and increasingly uncommon piece with plenty of original character.
