Pair of Italian Black Leather & Chrome Cantilever Chairs

A pair of vintage Italian cantilever chairs with black leather seats and backs over continuous tubular chrome frames.

The design is simple and architectural, with the chrome frame running from the floor around the seat and up across the top of the back. The seats and backrests are made from substantial black leather, stitched along the edges and wrapped directly around the tubular frame.

The cantilever construction gives the chairs a slight natural movement when seated and keeps the overall shape light despite the fairly substantial leather.

No maker's marks have been found, so they are being described simply as Italian cantilever chairs rather than attributed to a particular designer or manufacturer.

Condition

Good vintage condition overall. The black leather remains in good condition with some light marks and signs of previous use. There is some surface rust and spotting to areas of the chrome, although this is not particularly noticeable when the chairs are in use.
